In honor of Way Back Wednesday I thought I would share these local history sketches that recently came my way. All are by Slingerlands artist Virginia Remington Rich. I have not been able to find out much about her except that she was active in art circles in town in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. And that she is a descendant of the
slightly more famous artist Frederick Remington.
Enjoy!
And now for head tilting time... I thought I had this issue solved, sigh.
I just came across 3 cards I had of these sketches from the 1970's. I framed them as I love them so much because they remind me of my growing up years in Delmar NY

ReplyDeleteVirginia Remington Rich was my aunt and a wonderful, talented lady. She passed away 2/19/17.
ReplyDeleteHi Jill Powers. My name is Laura Ryan- I am having an estate of my parent's house in slingerlands and we have a great drawing of your aunt's of the old farm that was torn down a while ago that was by the stonewell.
DeleteWould you or someone in your family like it? I should have tried to locate you earlier!
Hi there! Is there any chance you still have that drawing. I can give you some information as to why I'm interested if you do. If you by any chance get this email, if you could shoot me an email at avonlakeshoremen44@gmail.com, and I can explain further!
DeleteMy rail fan grandson was given a locomotive sketch with V. Remington Rich along the rail. Nice to find out something about her.
