This image graced the cover of the 1963 Bethlehem Community Christmas Festival program booklet..

Do you recognize the Four Corners? Look for I Love Books' distinctive roof line.

  1. Why is it called the Four Corners when it appears to be five corners?

  2. That is a good question. The name Delmar Four Corners goes back a good 100 years. If you look at the USGS map from 1893, there are only four corners at the intersection of Delaware and Kenwood. The 1927 map shows the stub that is today's Paddock Place. Paddock Place probably started out as just a driveway or alley. You can look at the maps at this web site: http://docs.unh.edu/nhtopos/Albany.htm

  3. Great. Thanks so much. I was thinking it must have something to do with Paddock. Great blog! Thanks.
