My mother was instrumental in getting the bridge enlarged, there was a school bus accident on the bridge back in the early sixties. She complained to the NYDOT several times that we needed a new bridge. At least, those of us who lived in Selkirk thought that Helen Houk got that new bridge built!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00897758944490014373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6433205664324646866.post-57908801628239727272018-01-02T08:33:16.455-08:002018-01-02T08:33:16.455-08:00Thank you for sharing!Thank you for sharing!Susan Leathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13157201301506079611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6433205664324646866.post-33123270855546349022017-12-05T13:09:43.908-08:002017-12-05T13:09:43.908-08:00I believe that is why the bridge over the railroad...I believe that is why the bridge over the railroad is four lanes, instead of the two for the rest of 9W. It was in anticipation of the traffic BD was going to draw. The location is near where the Bethlehem Industrial Park is, or near where Wickes Lumber was when I was growing up. I thought they did some grading of the ground and maybe had a small building or two, but I don't remember any real construction occurring on the site.rottenralfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05543795422366300237noreply@blogger.com
